We are looking for dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic online Maths teachers to coach and tutor students and help them achieve their academic learning goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, interactive lessons that make Maths concepts clear and accessible to students of various skill levels, from beginners to advanced learners (Deliver Engaging Lessons).
- Tailor lessons and practice exercises to meet the individual learning needs and goals of each student, ensuring progress in both basic and advanced topics (Customized Learning Plans).
- Regularly assess students’ understanding and provide constructive feedback on assignments, quizzes, and tests. Track their progress and adjust lessons accordingly (Assess and Monitor Progress)
- Encourage student participation and foster a positive, engaging learning environment that motivates students to ask questions and think critically (Promote Active Learning).
- Be available for student inquiries and offer additional resources for practice, where necessary, to enhance their learning experience (Provide Support Outside Lessons).
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in Maths curricula and teaching methods to ensure that lessons are relevant, effective, and aligned with academic standards (Stay Updated on Curriculum Changes).
- Make use of digital teaching tools, such as interactive whiteboards, video lessons, and Maths software, to create an enriching and dynamic learning experience (Utilize Online Tools)
Qualifications
- A degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification or teaching certification, and German Language is a plus.
- Proven experience in teaching or tutoring Maths, preferably in an online setting. Experience with both individual and group lessons is an advantage.
- In-depth understanding of Maths concepts across a range of topics (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics) and the ability to explain them clearly.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and engage students through virtual platforms.
- Comfortable using online teaching platforms, video conferencing tools, and digital educational resources (such as Ms Teams, interactive whiteboards, etc.).
- A Functional Laptop, high-speed internet connection is a must have, and ring light is mandatory.
- The ability to be patient and adaptable to students’ diverse learning styles and paces, creating an encouraging atmosphere that promotes student success.
- An understanding and appreciation of diverse cultural backgrounds, as Language Afrik serves students from a variety of linguistic and cultural contexts.
- Flexible working hours to accommodate students from different time zones, offering a range of tutoring sessions.
